Terms of service

Plain terms for using Darce. The CLI itself is open source under the MIT license; these terms cover the hosted service behind it.

Updated October 9, 2026

These terms are between you and Amer Sarhan, who operates Darce ("we"). By creating an account, starting a trial or using api.darce.dev, you agree to them. Contact: hello@darce.dev.

The software and the service

The Darce CLI is open source under the MIT license. The hosted service (the API that connects the CLI to models, accounts, plans and the dashboard) is what these terms cover. Darce is in early beta: features change often, and things may break.

Your account

Keep your API key and password private; you're responsible for what happens under your account. One person per account. Tell us at once if you think your key has leaked, and rotate it.

Plans, limits and billing

  • Each plan has a usage allowance: Free per day, paid plans per week, measured by the cost of the model calls you make. When you reach it, the service stops until the allowance resets or you upgrade. We never charge past your limit.
  • Paid plans renew monthly through Stripe until you cancel. Cancel any time from the dashboard; you keep the plan until the end of the period you paid for.
  • Beta codes grant a plan for a limited time and end on their own; nothing is charged when they do.
  • We may change prices or limits; for paid plans we'll give at least 30 days' notice, and changes apply from your next period.

Details are on the pricing page.

Your code and what Darce does with it

Your code stays yours. Darce acts on your computer on your instructions: you choose the approval mode and approve risky actions. /undo can reverse changes inside your project, but not effects outside your machine such as deploys, database writes, pushes or API calls. Review what you approve, and keep backups and version control for anything that matters. Model output can be wrong.

Acceptable use

Don't use Darce to break the law, to attack systems you don't own or have permission to test, to create malware, to get around our limits (for example by sharing keys or creating many free accounts), or in ways that break the terms of the model providers your requests go to. We may suspend accounts that do.

No warranty

The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost data or lost profits, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 3 months before the claim.

Ending

You can stop using Darce and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, and we'll tell you why when we can.

Changes

We may update these terms; important changes will be announced in the changelog with a new date above. Continuing to use the service means you accept them.
